Classes & Schedule

The following is a step by step guide for enrolling your child in Bahama Village Music Program:

1. Complete the enrollment form with your child or children. Be sure to review the Student Obligation on page 2 with your child so they know what is expected of them. Complete one form for each child age 6 and up. Enrollment forms are available be request through email : officebvmpkw@gmail.com

2. Submit a PDF of your child’s enrollment form to officebvmpkw@gmail.com

or 

Submit a hard copy in person, or by mail, at our location at 103 Olivia St

3. Once your child’s enrollment form is submitted, the BVMP Executive Director will inform you that they have received your form using the information provided

4. Based on the information given, the BVMP Executive Director will contact you to schedule your child’s lesson

BVMP Jazz Ensemble

 

Mondays 3:00-4:00pm

Junior Junkanoos

 

Tuesdays & Thursdays 4-5pm

Junior Junkanoos is BVMP’s newest program, in collaboration with Key West Junkanoos, and we are so proud to help keep this Caribbean tradition alive! Led by Harold Pelote and sponsored by the Old Island Restoration Foundation, Florida Keys Council of the Arts and Fantasy Fest, rehearsals on Mondays and Thursdays at the Frederick Douglass Gym begin on August 26th.

 

Joyful Voices Choir

Wednesdays 4-5pm

Joyful Voices Choir, Sponsored by the Larry Dion Foundation, is not just a great opportunity for children to learn how to sing in a group, but students will also learn to appreciate music, harmonize with their peers and aspects of music theory like tempo, dynamics and parts of song with Choir Director Katchen Duncan. Open enrollment for ages 6 and up.

 

Older Voices Choir

Wednesdays 5-6pm — HAS RESUMED!!

Older Voices is open for students 5th grade and above and focuses on a cappella techniques, blending harmonies and sight singing. Sponsored by the Larry Dion Foundation.

 

School of Rock

Thursdays 5-6pm — Temporarily on hold

School of Rock, initially sponsored by the Community Foundation of the Florida Keys, is a fantastic way for our young musicians to collaborate with their peers, learn new songs, and create a full scale rock band. Students will learn to play with others and rock out!
